Story of Pradyuman

Kamadeva (Cupid), an extension of Lord (bhagwan) Vasudeva, was burned to ashes by Lord (bhagwan) Siva's anger and was reborn as part and parcel of Pradyumna from the womb of Rukmini. A devil named Sambara, thinking Pradyumna his rival, kidnapped Him from the maternity room even before He was 10 days aged. Sambara threw Pradyumna into the sea and came back to his kingdom. A robust fish swallowed Pradyumna and was caught by fishermen in a net. They obtainable the large fish to Sambara, when his cooks cut it open they found kids inside its stomach. The cooks gave the baby to the maidservant Mayavati, who was surprised to view Him. Just then Narada Muni appeared and advised her who the baby was. Mayavati was actually Kamadeva's wife, Ratidevi. While awaiting her husband to be reborn in a new body, she had taken employment being a cook in the family of Sambara. Now that she understood who the baby was, she began to feel extreme affection for Him. Later than a very short time, Pradyumna grew to young adulthood, magnetic all the ladies with His attractiveness.
