About Mata Savitri .

Savitri Devi is an incarnation (avatar) of Mata saraswati Devi, consort of Lord (bhagawan) Brahma, symbolizing the "shakti" (power) and "dev" (high quality) of Information, Purity and Virtue. Mata saraswati Devi is held to be the patronness of the Arts, being a poet and musician, in addition to skillful composer. Within the type of Savitri Devi, with the blessings of Lord (bhagawan) Brahma, she is believed to have given the 4 Vedas to mankind. Savitri is depicted seated on a lotus. She is depicted with 5 faces representing the pancha pranas /pancha vayus(5 lives/winds): prana, apana,vyana, udana, samana, of the 5 rules/ components (pancha tatwas) earth, water, air, fireplace, sky (prithvi, jala, vayu, teja, aakasha). She has ten fingers carrying the 5 ayudhas: shankha; chakra, kamala, varada, abhaya, kasha, ankusha, ujjwala utensil, rudrakshi mala.
