About Mahisha mardini.

Mahishasura Mardini is the incarnation (avatar) of Mata Durga who had in use delivery to kill the asura king Mahisasura. Mahishasura was the king who dominated the dominion of Mahisha or Mahishaka. Based on Hindu Puranas, Mahisha was the child of an asura King Rambha who had fallen in love with a lovely feminine buffalo named Shyamala. Shyamala was a princess who grew to become a water buffalo as a result of curse. Rambha resulting from his magical powers got the type of a male buffalo and by their union Mahisha was born with the pinnacle of a buffalo and human body. Mahishasura has the magical energy to take the type of buffalo and human in response to his wish. In Sanskrit language, Mahisha means Buffalo. Mahishasura ruined the lifetime of people and conquered Earth (Prithvi Lokam) in addition to Deva Loka (Swarga Lokam) by attacking Lord (bhagawan) Indra, the King of Devas. All Gods and Mata approached Lord Vishnu for a clarification. Thus the powers of Trimurtis - the Trinity (trideva) of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahadeva - joined collectively for the creation of Goddess Durga (Mahamaya).
