They had been spending their lives by worshiping Balabrahmeswara and Jogulamba. Renuka was nice at Pathi bhakti and Daiva bhakti (devotion on Husband and God). Each day she used to carry water from Tungabhadra with a brand new pot freshly made up of sand. This was doable because of her devotion. Sooner or later she noticed a king of Gandharvas taking bathtub within the river along with his wives. She thought that they had been residing fortunately by the grace of Bhagawan. She neglect that the true happiness arrives from the pooja and never the materialistic wealth. Due to that sin she could not make the pot and went dwelling with-out water. Jamadagni requested the reason. She instructed the truth. He grew to become offended and ordered his first son to kill Renuka. However, the son refused to kill his mother. Jamadagni requested his second and third sons. They too refused. However, the fourth son Parasu Rama killed his mom by reducing her head along with his axe. Jamadagni was happy and instructed that Parasu Rama can ask a benefit. Parasu Rama requested to provide life to his mother. Jamadagni rejuvinated her.
