Goddess Varalakshmi Homam

Varalakshmi Pooja day is one of the numerous days to worship the devi of prosperity and wealth. Varalakshmi, who is the wife of Lord (bhagwan) Vishnu, is among the types of Devi Mahalakshmi. Varalakshmi was incarnated on the milky sea, traditionally called Kshir Sagar. She is described as obtaining complexion of milky ocean and adorns similar color clothes.

It is whispered that the Varalakshmi form of the devi bestows boons and fulfills all wishes of her devotees. Therefore this way of the devi is called Vara + Lakshmi i.e. Devi Lakshmi who bestows boons.
