Chhinnamasta puja for enemy

Mata Chhinnamasta puja is especially carried out for getting a son, to take away poverty, to realize knowledge, to destroy enemies and to be a poet. Chhinnamasta is related with the concept of self-sacrifice also because the awakening of Kundalini. Chhinnamasta is also referred to as Chhinnamastika and Prachanda Chandika.

In the story from the Shakta Maha-Bhagavata Purana, which narrates the creation of all Mahavidyas together with Chhinnamasta, Sati, the daughter of Daksha plus the first spouse of the bhagawan Shiva, feels insulted that she and Shiva aren't invited to Daksha's yagna ("fire sacrifice") and insists on going there, regardless of Shiva's protests. After futile makes an attempt to persuade Shiva, the enraged Sati assumes a fierce kind, reworking into the Mahavidyas, who surround Shiva from the ten cardinal directions. Chhinnamasta stands to the right of Shiva in the west.
