Shraddha puja (श्राद्ध पूजा) done for atma shanti for your departed fatherly and motherly near and dear ones. It's a ritual for expressing one's reverential feelings for the ancestors with dedication. It allays the sufferings of your departed dear ones. Delighting ancestors before God is promoting or enhancing well-being. Pitra Kriya is more abundant with importance or implication than Dev Kriya. Garud Purana, Matsya Purana (मत्स्य पुराण), Vishnu Purana, Vayu Purana and other sacred scriptures (shastra) as Manu Smriti etc. give an account or representation of Shraddh.

Shraddh श्राद्ध is the ritual carried out to oblige one's ancestors. It is stated in the texts that a one who doesn't perform the Shraadh श्राद्ध of his departed fatherly and motherly near and dear ones has to bear much in life and even after.

In the traditional Indian holy text Garud Puraan (गरुण पुराण) and other Puraans it is clearly stated that by offering this puja to the forefathers and departed dear ones, their souls feel grateful they usually bless the person with prosperity, kids, knowledge, joys, pleasures, with long and vigorous life. We carry out "Shradh श्राद्ध " on the day when our ancestors left us for delightful abode i. e on their death anniversary. If somebody doesn't know the dates of passing such a person should perform Shraddh on the moonless night (Amavasya) every month or must in the month of shraadhs.

Akal Mrityu (अकाल मृत्यु)
If somebody from the family died in an accident or due to some unnatural reason, it is known as as Akaal Mrityu (death before time) and for them we do "Shraadh" on last day of Ashwin month Amavasya.

Importance of Shradh श्राद्ध Chaturdashi Tithi

For ancestors who could have died caused by any weapon, poison or incidents, their Shradh is carried out on Chaturdashi and for ancestors who died on Chaturdashi, their Shradh श्राद्ध is carried out on Amavasya

Performing this puja for ancestors will bring success to their descendants and thus getting helpful energies for development. The successor also gets blessings from the pitra/forefathers to support him immensely. This may significantly help the person to development religiously as the material obstacles or problems are eradicated. This puja is extremely influential and effects on well being and curing serious illnesses. This is being done for getting healing from chronic illnesses and other body aliments. Those who suffer invariably undergoing any aliments shall obtain this puja done for early healing. This puja is exclusively suitable for Achievement in Business or Profession , Security from Evils and Enemies (shatru).
