For this the home is cleaned and adorned with garland of mango leaves, hung throughout the main entrance of the house as a protective barrier in opposition to evil. Both banana and mango tree are thought-about auspicious, as they're the symbols of fertility and prosperity. Banana leaves are wound and tied around the poles that are erected outside the house.
