About Varah.

Varaha, third of the ten incarnations (avatars) of the Hindu bhagawan Vishnu. When a devil named Hiranyaksha dragged the earth to the base of the ocean, Lord vishnu got the shape of a boar in arrange to rescue it. They fought for a thousand years. Then Varaha veer the devil and raised the earth out of the water with his tusks. The fantasy displays an earlier formation legend of Prajapati (Brahma), who unspecified the shape of a boar in arrange to lift the earth up out of the primordial waters. Varaha is represented either in filled animal form or with the head of a boar and the body of a man. Totally zoomorphic sculptures show him as a massive boar with the earth, incarnate as the dark-hued mata Bhumidevi, clinging to one of his tusks. As half-human, half-animal, he is frequently exposed standing with one leg bent supporting Bhumidevi, whose expression, in respect to Indian canons of demonstration, should express both bashfulness and happiness.
